AI Canada (English Speaking) Matchstick: Editorial Team Application
Are you passionate about using art and written word to spark change? Do you have a keen eye for detail and storytelling? Apply to join The Matchstick's new editorial team!  

The Matchstick is an initiative of the AI Canada's National Organizer Program and will be Amnesty's digital art magazine; for youth by youth.
It will feature content produced by young artists who want to use their work to bring light to Amnesty’s ongoing Human Rights campaigns and build a digital archive of global solidarity. Whether you are drawn to visual arts or literature, there is room for each medium of expression here!

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
__________________________
>Managing Editor
Work closely with Editor in Chief and Creative Director to develop publication strategies and support in implementation. Support in the creation + tracking of production schedule and Editorial calendar. Supervise Editorial team and ensure timely execution of tasks. Administrate team meetings: create polls, send invite and keep minutes. Maintain Publication Google Drive. Oversee social media content production and approvals. Copywriting as needed

>Visual Arts Editors 
Responsible for reviewing and evaluating submissions, working closely with their team and artists to maintain the publication theme and layout.
Visual Arts: painting, sculpture, animation, short film, photography, craft, textile, ceramics, comic
Literary: poetry, prose, fiction, non-fiction, short drama

>Layout Editor 
Responsible for designing the format of print and digital publication. You are interested in visual storytelling and using the arrangement of art and literature to make a point and confirm the publication’s stance. You will work as part of a core team of 1 and collaborate closely with Web Designers and EIC's.

>Wordpress Web Developer 
Responsible for the updating and maintenance of the website. Ideally has prior knowledge of using WordPress, Elementor or similar interfaces.

>Web Designer 
Responsible for  web layout and visual design of all pages on TheMatchstick.org. Maintenance, addition and design of content. You will work with a core team of 2-3 web designers and web developers and collaborate with EIC's and Layout Editors often.

>Social Media Co-ordinator 
Responsible for creating social media content to promote past issues, and components of upcoming submissions cycle and maintaining an updated social media calendar. Experience using Canva and Google Sheets required. You will work with with a core team of 2-3.
